THE GREAT HOCKEY COMES BACK AT ROANA END OF AUGUST.
FIVE NATIONS ON TRACK FOR EUROPEAN UNDER 18 MEN.

Roana remains also in August the wheel’s protagonist. From 26 to 28, in fact, the PalaRobaan hosts the second edition of the CERS In-Line-hockey European Under-18 men’s Championship. The event, organized by the indefatigable Angel Roffo under the aegis of the CERS (Confederation Européenne de Roller Skating) In-Line-hockey Committee  and FIHP (Italian Hockey and Skating Federation), will track five senior national: Czech Republic, France, Italy, Switzerland and newcomer Sweden. It starts on Friday 26th with the Marobin Azzurrini coach’s team that will debut at 14.00 against Switzerland. Finals Sunday 28th with the race for the bronze at 14.00 and that for gold at 15.30; followed by the closing ceremony.

The president of In-Line-Hockey committee, Boris Darlet, is satisfied with this second edition on the Altopiano: “Here, the hockey culture is strong and the infrastructure is excellent as well as the organization. In June Asiago-Roana hosted the In-Line hockey World Championships so for me it is an honor to be here with the European, but I hope it is also for the players, coaches and families who will follow them. The goal of this project, strongly supported by our committee, is to give attention to young people, to boys who will become, in few years, the best players of their country, because no one becomes a high level player from nothing. It is a long process made of trainings and showdowns, successes and also learning from failure, to go beyond limits and to come back and learn about oneself“.

“For this 2016 edition of the European Championship Under-18 men, we can rely on confirmations of four core countries, Czech Republic, France, Italy and Switzerland, and a new entrance, Sweden – conclude Boris Darlet. These countries were placed among the top six of the last World Junior Championship, this underlines the high level of the event. But there is also an interesting statistic: 75 percent of the matches between the four core teams that attended last year ended with a difference of one goal, to testify the value of this competition.“

Finally, let’s talk about this event with the organizer, Angel Roffo, deus ex machina of the In-Line hockey World Championship held in June in Asiago and Roana, and the Roller Skating Italian Championship held at PalaRobaan in July: “We are delighted to host such an event of this level,  for the second consecutive year. On track will be the best teams in the European scene and will see the debut of Sweden. The In-Line-Hockey is a sport with a relevant growth and the World Championships have confirmed it; I’m sure the show in the Under 18 men will meet our expectations. “
