Dear friends of Roller In Line Hockey in Europe,

CERILH is delighted to announce the approval of the new referees commission. This commission is composed with:

  • Alba Calero Scanlan (Spain): President
  • Nils Pfeffer (Germany): Vice President
  • Stephane Angelique (France): Vice President

CERILH rules have been updated in 2015 to introduce the role of the referees commission, as followed in art. 9.5 of CERILH Clubs Competitions rules and art. 14.5 of CERILH Euro Competitions rules :

  • When created, the referee commission will manage the following competences and duties delegated to them by CERILH:
    • Train referees and deliver European degrees to referees, mandatory to officiate at the European Competitions (nations/clubs)
    • Following-up the activity of all international referees officiating in Europe, in relation with their national Governing Body and maintain update the list of active European Referees
    • Coordinate, at a European level, all people in charge of referees supervision in their country, in order to promote the emergence of a consistent supervision in Europe
    • Propose to CERILH a Referee in Chief

As a president, Alba Calero Scanlan will bring to the commission her coordination, communication and relationship skills in order to lead the commission.

As vice president, Nils Pfeffer will bring to the commission a strong knowledge of international events and the experience in referees management for international events.

As vice president, Stephane Angelique will bring to the commission a strong experience in referees project management and process engineering around referees systems, developed in France and already deployed, with CERILH’s patronage, in Ireland.

CERILH is confident that the new referees commission’s team, that already worked during the event in Ris-Orangis and in Boskovice to frame their project, is composed with the profiles that shows a lot of complementaries, which will help to improve the referees management in Europe.

As a letter of mission to the referees commission, CERILH points key goals to reach:

  • Participate in the definition process of a European standardized approach of the interpretation of the game
  • Based on this approach, set up the training process to
    • Train new referees interested with a European Degree
    • Train trainers of referees
    • Train supervisor
    • Train trainers of supervisors
  • Coordinate with all countries the supervision approach
    • Create a European group of supervisors
    • Define a single supervision tool to be used in Europe
    • Participate in a processus of harmonizing the supervision
  • Provide a service to help countries in organizing their refereeing politic (on the example of what as been delivered in Ireland, with CERILH’s patronage)
  • Identify high potential referees profiles and set up a following-up approach, in agreement with the local authority managing the sport, to help them to progress, gain in maturity and develop their potential in European Events

CERILH gives full support to the new referees commission and wish to Alba, Nils and Stephane a lot of success in their contribution to the improvement of the refereeing politic in Europe.
